Putting on New Emblems?

Hi all, I was hoping I could get some advice on putting black/white emblems on the hood, truck, and the wheels. After searching through existing threads, it seems the overall conclusion is to wrap the "tool; ie: screwdriver, knife, etc." in a towel while prying out the hood and truck emblem. However, I noticed two screws that i think hold the hood emblem in place; any clarification? Additionally, how do I remove the existing emblems from my stock tires? And lastly, what is the difference between the $40 7-emblem set as opposed to the $80+ 7-emblem carbon-fiber set? I have a 2001 X5 3.0. Thank you very much in advance!

Don't try and pry anything...they all just push out from behind with just a little effort, including the wheels.

Can you please give more detail about this? I'm not sure where I can push from behind with the trunk. How do I push the tires from behind? Take them off?

Thanks.

I got mine from ebay. Hood and trunk emblem.. I got the black carbon fiber emblems, and they look really good..:)

If the pictures look good, im sure the product is good.. Maybe not buy the cheapest version.

And it is only the ones on the wheels you can pry out from behind. For the hood i used a rag and a fine flat screwdriver to pry it out. Did'nt have to use too musch force. I did the same with the trunk one, but for this one, you need to use some adhesive tape to make it sit after refitting.

Good luck..

Thanks so much for the advice. How exactly do you pry the wherel caps from behind?

Well..

This is only a good option if the wheels are off the car.. Then you can push the emblems straight out.. But if the wheels are fitted, you need to pry them off, as you cannot get to them from behind.

Just take your time and have something soft between the tool you are using and any painted surface. Should'nt be too hard.:)

Thank you guys for the great advice. Any clarification on the two screws holding the good emblem? Or does that pry right off too?

The hood emblem pushes/pulls straight out, the "srews" aren't threaded and there are no bolts to deal with. I replaced mine a year ago and the one I bought off Ebay has already deteriorated. Can you post the black and white ones??
