2006 CPO -- 3.0L 26-35K?
 

I've been looking into getting my first X5 for the family. I like the 3.0L 2006 models and I'm generally finding them to be around 26-35K, depending on the upgrades.

Figuring this is a recession, i was hoping to talk the prices down a bit -- boy was I wrong. I saw an X5 at East Bay BMW in Pleasanton CA for 26K and they're only willing to budge a few hundred bucks!

I also found an 06 3.0L (black/tan) at Weatherford BMW in Berkeley CA w/ only 30K miles....for 26K. Test drove it and that thing is jumpy from a stop. The other X5's I've driven (also 3.0L) are much, much smoother in terms of the transmission shifting.

So, do you folks also have that "bucking" problem, where you slowly press the gas, then BAM!, the car seems to find itself?

What do you guys think of a CPO 3.0L w/ 50K miles for 26k?

Too many miles...

i dont think its a bad deal. but what options does it have? i have a 2006 black on black 3.0i. i just hit 50K miles last week. my X has navi, heated seats and steering wheel, and pretty much all the other features offered on an 06 3.0. but 2 thinks i dont have are PDC and DSP. i say if you like it and the price is good for you go for it. im sure you will be happy. and being that its CPOis a big plus.

The 26K X5 w/ 50K miles has the premium package.

I would highly recommend the sports package as a must have option!!!!:thumbup:

We did 2006 3.0 ZPP, ZCW, NAV, PDC, 38,000 miles Highland Green on Beige for $26k in February. It's freakin' beautiful.

0.9% for up to 5 years on CPO cars is so strong and as you can imagine, some dealers will move than others on price. Good luck!!!

When I was searching for X5's late last year I did stumble upon a loaded 06 X5 3.0 with 45k miles for 26k. They were also offering to pay the first 2 payments also. So your price is fair but not that good IMO. It's nice to have a little factory warranty left because chances are you are gonna find a bunch of things wrong that the CPO missed. That is what happened the last 2 CPO's I bought.

The used car market is hot right now, and with BMW offering 0.9% on 2005 and 2006 models its only fueling demand.

I bought my CPO 2006 4.4L from East Bay BMW (Pleasanton) in December and they knocked $6k off the asking price. Granted, it was Dec 31 with an hour to go before they closed so they had an interest in making the deal happen.

The point is, timing is everything. Wait until the end of the month and you can increase your chances of getting a good deal, also try to find the "right" sales person to work with. Play dealers off of one another, there is a large supply of 3.0L X5s so you can be picky.

With that said, I can't say enough good things about my experiences with East Bay BMW (Pleasanton). They've continued to provide excellent service even after my purchase.

Oh, and I would recommend finding one that has less than 50k mi on it, just so you have some of the original warranty in tack before the CPO warranty kicks in.
