Hi, on my 03' 4,6is the I just got the infamous CES (CEL) ans it reads the following two codes:

BMW codes 28 and 29 which shows up as ''Fuel Trim Adaption Additive Low / High Bank 1 and 2

Any info guys?? :dunno:

I can also add that the idle is rough and that there is some petrol smell from the left side exhaust.........:dunno:

So, I am still having this issue.

There is now now rough running or any other issues, but I keep getting the Service Engine light. Once I reset the fault it returnes after 100miles or so. :dunno:

The fault codes are the same as above.....

Am I looking at a new MAF or new O2 sensors??

Weasel56??? Any input? :stickpoke

Sorted, was a hole in crank case breather hoses. 20$ part, and 30mins work!

All in order :-)

Yeah, those are the first thing to go that causes the lean mixture faults via vacuum leak. Don't you love how rubber can turn to play-doh over the years of oil vapors...

well, those two hoses are of inferior quality...

Should not happen in the first place... :dunno:

But its sorted not.

Changed my maf, air filter, plugs, fuel filter at the same time, and saw a drastic fuel saving....... ;)

It's just that the rubber becomes mushy over the years with the hot oil vapors soaking into them... they could have used plastic, but then they would become brittle and crack when people tried to disconnect them/mess with them. Then people would complain that they should have used rubber...
