I would suspect a LKM (Light Kontrol Module.) You'll need a dealer to pull fault codes from the dash memory to confirm and to fit and code a new module.

You don't have an ipod interface, do you? I had one go bad and it did exactly like what you are experiencing (but it was on my wife's 2002 M3).

No. No interface, jst standard sat nav tape player. Reverse lights and brake lights dont work either. Think i got the friday car.

Start by checking fuses.

If the indy can program modules then get it done there. Not sure if a unit can be reprogrammed or if they only be programed once. I had it done under CPO. $400 unit plus 16 hours on the computer. It took the dealer 5 days to find error codes in the DASH memory. He was looking elsewhere.

Just noticed you are a Scouser.

Yes, and befor the jokes start i did NOT steal my car !!!

Thanks for the info i will make some calls tomorrow. Strange that the lights work outside the car, jst not on the dash. . . .:dunno:

sounds like the k-bus is shorted. turn on the radio, and try to increase and decrease the volume with the steering wheel controls, if it does not work, your k-bus is shorted. A common fault is the MRS airbag control unit.
