Pics of new mods...

Here are some pics of my X5 following this past Sunday's updates... installed mods include:

* Aluminum running boards
* OEM trailer hitch
* H&R 30mm spacers on rear wheels
* Valentine One (hard-wired)
* Aluminum gauge rings
* Sirius antenna moved into the roof spoiler
* OEM first-aid kit under the passenger seat.
(Also, you'll notice the Dinan exhaust in the shots of the rear - this was installed by MotorWorks West about a month ago, along with Dinan camber plates, strut brace & throttle body... awesome stuff! :thumbup: )

For the winter, I'll be sticking with the stock 18x8.5" sport package wheels pictured above, but come spring, I'll pick up a set of 20" #87's to really complete the look! :D
But in the near future I'll be adding a Stealth One, an OEM TV tuner kit (to replace the jerry-rigged P&L electronics unit), and 15mm spacers for the front wheels.
Then maybe at some point I'll actually get around to Euro clears and a 4.8 rear bumper with flared wheel arches... ;)

** Hey Kevin, will all this finally get me an honorable mention in this week's Freaky Friday??? :rofl: **

Your mods are great. I have the same x5 with the same mods. except i dont have the chrome gauge rings. they look great though and i am going to get them soon. I installed the 4.8 front bumper and it looks awesome. if i were you i would do that next. It changes the entire look of the x5. by the way your x5 looks like it sits tall. Do you have the hieght adjustable suspension on yours. I currently have the style 87 20s but am puitting the stock wheels with snows on it in a couple of weeks. you will love the way your x looks with the 20s when you get them. I dont want to take mine off. but it sucks in the snow with them on. Anyway good luck with the X5 and kepp us posted on new mods.

You may want to add the M steering wheel to your mod list. :D

Looks great! All in one weekend?! What a transformation!

PersonaNonGrata 10-20-2005 03:18 AM

Very nice Aaron. Funny you should mention the wheels because as I was looking at the pics I knew you would be slapping on some big kicks.

As for FF, you will just have to wait. :D

ssabripo 10-20-2005 10:16 AM

Thanks!

I haven't had any problems with no front plate - but that's probably because the car is still registered in PA, where only a rear plate is required :D

Yes, it was a lot for one weekend, and the transformation was astounding! (Can't wait to see it with the 20" #87 wheels with 315 tires in back... )

I picked up most of the hardware on my own - gauge rings for $30 from Bavarian-Motorwerks, H&R spacers for $180 from Turner Motorsports, hitch & running boards for 25% off at Paul Miller BMW in NJ (thanks for the heads-up on that, LeMans) - so the OEM First-Aid kit and all the labor came to a little over $600.
(By the way, I do not have adjustable ride height. The front air suspension is not compatible with Dinan camber plates - which I feel are a must! - so I made sure not to check-off that option on my list.)

Thanks to everyone for the compliments!

Can you post some pics of your X5 with the 4.8is bumpers? Thanks.

DinanX5: Awesome pics. I still love the chrome gauge rings...shockingly I never could get my instrument cluster open, so I was never able to install them. I tried everything possible, and in the end, the X-tabs ended up shredded but they would not go into position to allow me to open it. If anyone makes it to Reno that knows how to get it open, beers are on me.
