air spring DIY
:popcorn:Alright, so one of my airsprings sounds just like a flat tire, so obviously is toast. I bought the two airsprings from Tischer for about $300.
I would like to replace them myself, has anybody here ever tried that?? Need some input/tips/help, cause brothers, I'm doing it....sometime next week that is....but doing it. Thanks!! 2000 4.4i (E53) |
So the air spring just popped? Is one side sitting lower than the other now?

yeah, at first it would take a while for it to drop on one side, now, you can hear the air hissing out from the left air spring and looks bad...real low on the left....
|
I didn't know the springs would pop. I always thought it was the bag!?:dunno:

Air spring= bag.

Assuming he is referring to the rear suspension, since that's what the tags indicate.
The OP said he purchased 2 springs. I assumed from the RealOEM diagram that he is referring to Part #1 Pneumatic Springs for the left and right side. Whereas Part #8 is the bag, which there is only 1 of for the rear suspension. Right? http://www.realoem.com/bmw/diagrams/s/p/258.png |
Yup, it's #1 in the diagram, there's a left and right, I would replace both anyways.
Thank you guys, |
