broken door carrier - parts options?
 

I have just experienced a broken door carrier on the drivers side of my 2004 X5. from what I read on the boards, this appears to be a common problem.

When I google the BMW part number 51218243615 I get a number of options, including parts for under $50, which I assume are aftermarket suplliers?

Q - Has anyone tried one of the afternmarket replacements?

Normally I would stick with OEM, but since this is a know failure item perhaps the aftermarket might not be any worse... Or maybe even better?

Your broken door carrier on driver side..... inside or outside?
If it is the outside i have one new OEM for sale let me know ..

I have the same issue, both driver and passenger side :-( let me know if you figure out anything about it. mine broke from inside.
