Window issues........

Hi all,

I've got a problem with my auto window switches - the main drivers side switches, which has controls for all four windows, has stopped working for the front drivers and front passenger window. Works fine for the back two and the front passenger window works with it's own switch ???

Any help/tips/advise would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

Front rt window switch

My front window stuck in the down position. Eventually found the up switch not working, will I have to replace the bank of switches? Anyone had similar problems? Have the window up now wedged with the BMW plank:yikes:

Are you sure it's the switch and not the regulator ?? I just had exactly the same symtoms that you describe and it was my reg.

First off check all of your fuses. Maybe its just a bad fuse. Second if its not the fuses check the switches with a tester or go to a local mom and pop shop and have it tested with one of there fuse testers. see if any power is coming from the switches....

Good luck :)

Thanks for the replies. As I took the whole window assemble apart including the running tracks (which I think is called the regualtor?) I disconnected the motor from the assemble the motor would run one way only so I presumed it was the up switch, I did not check fuses yet as I thought as the motor was running they were ok.

hey kkim, what was the problem after all this motor, regulator, or switch etc? I'm haing the same problem

It was the switch. When fitting the switch you may have to change the polarity if the window goes up instead of down, by swapping two connectors on the plug.
