Another Spacer Mod Question
I have a staggered 275/40/20 & 315/35/20 on Style 214's and have just installed the fender flares. I was thinking of adding some spacers to make it beefier however, I don't want the wheels to stick out past the wheel wells. Based on what I've read on this forum, I was thinking of going with 10mm on the front and 25mm on the rear. Anybody with this same set up that can post some pictures.
Will this set up cause understeer? I've read that the wider the spacer, the more stress and strain it places on the driveline that was not engineered to handle it. . Any comments or suggestions?:dunno::dunno: |
If you want an exact size measure the space between the wheel wall and the fender flares in MM and get the spacer closest to this number that doesn't go over it, because someone with that same tire size on a different wheel might get a different size depending on the offset of the wheel they have and viceversa with same wheel different tire setup. So measure your gap to get your ideal size, also I don't think spacers will cause understeer since the front ones are usually thin ones.

Wondering the same thing. I have 87's same tire size and from the pics I have seen here on the forum 10 front and 25 rear seems like the right combo. Hope some one can chime in here and provide a pic and some good feedback.

I have 15mm front and 25mm rear on mine with the same size tyre set up. They look perfect for me (with the 25mm drop) and I'm glad that I didn't get anything bigger.
You can check out the pics from here. And Dolphin is right, the offset of the wheel makes a different as well. Good Luck. |
