Looks very nice, top detailing job. Probably a tad too much black for mine but hey it's your ride. How are the headlights and fog lights for brightness ??
Just one thing though, the close up of the front fender could probably do with a touch of Black Wow: Black WOW Exterior Trim Restorer Then it's a wrap.

Zridder19 06-26-2009 01:42 AM

oh it wasnt a detail, just a quick wash. but ill check that out! :)

Zridder19 06-26-2009 01:46 AM

brightness was significantly less, but if I drive with the fogs on as well as the headlights its managable. Im used to form/function so no complaints here

m5james 06-26-2009 01:50 AM

Cole 06-26-2009 02:25 AM

Very nice... where do you hide the drugs and guns? ;)

Zridder19 06-26-2009 02:26 AM

haha PM me for secret stashes :D

TheGodfather 06-26-2009 02:35 AM

hmmm, what do the headlights look like when turned on the day time?

If you had DRL halos that would look sick with the blacked out lenses.

Are the headlights tinted or is it somesort of sticky film? The reason i ask is I would like to mask the ugly reflector on my 04' headlight.

BMWLOVER 06-26-2009 02:37 AM

Nice work!! Looks really nice!

dville 06-26-2009 02:53 AM

You forgot to do the rotors....they are still shiny...;)

Zridder19 06-26-2009 03:06 AM

just got new brakes a week ago :)

nra0707 06-26-2009 09:05 AM

Wicked! Nice job!

FSETH 06-26-2009 09:24 AM

Looks good. I would have left the lights alone or not gone as dark, but to each his own.

Next time you need rotors. buy Centric ones. They come with a black coating on the hub. It will complete your look.

LOL:rofl:

X looks good..

im guessing you get away with tints out there.

here in jersey - if you were to get pulled over they would piont a gun at the X and with the intercom they would ask you to roll all your windows down and stick your hands out...

YES YES!!

they dont around my area.....

Im sure you have heard of the state troopers on the NJturnpike.

jayjay_dee 06-26-2009 10:30 AM

nice X, good job :thumbup::thumbup:

Springs were a 6/10 as far as the install goes, the rear were quite a pain to do compared to the front, but if you are mechanically inclined its doable.

As far as the tint goes, its illegal here but there arent many cops out here by the beach and they really dont care much, its pretty laid back actually. *knock on wood* I havent gotten pulled yet. Im going this afternoon to get my whole windshield tinted in 35% so itll be really black.

Thanks again for all the nice words guys!:D

Dking05 06-26-2009 01:00 PM

now that is a serious black-out! all you need is black/white emblems and painted trim. crazy awsome man!

X52002 06-26-2009 01:23 PM

bankerkys 06-26-2009 05:41 PM

Looks good. If it were mine, I'd feel like putting a splash of color somewhere - maybe a lime green pinstripe.

LeMansX5 06-26-2009 06:38 PM

I don't see any rear pics. Did you miss some areas there? ;)

There was a guy here who tinted his windshield as well to 20%.

Zridder19 06-26-2009 06:46 PM

Windshield just got tinted in 35%, and I didnt post any rear pics bc I was lazy and didnt feel like blurring the license plate. Its all black tho.

I think I might put this thing on air. I cant justify spending $2500 on coilovers and only getting 2.5" of drop. I can lay it out on bags for like $3k...

Way overdone.

Weasel 06-28-2009 06:35 PM

I'd add some iBrights to your AE's to help with the headlights contrast, and think the $30 black and white roundel kit from eBay would look better on the hood/wheels. Especially the wheels, the solid black roundels wash it out, the black/whites would probably look better.

Actually, what would make that X the sickest would be to go through with the rear airbags and front airstruts and tuck some 21" ferric 215's in there! That would look wicked!

what seller do you recommend for roundels? i went with one from Taiwan, and after 3 months of wear&tear, the surface isnt soft, now its rought and getting foggy.

so yea....got any sellers whos quality can last a long time? full replacement roundels*

I appriciate the advice, I'll start looking into some different lighting options. I definatly think it would be sick to tuck some 21's!! Im gonna have to stick with my 168's tho. Money is kinda tight right now :(

Just looked on eBay, the ones I got aren't listed right now... but they are good quality and look/feel like OEM. I made sure I didn't get any of the cheap ones that are under 1/4" of soft crap.

Dking05 06-29-2009 02:24 PM

if you remember the name of the seller just let me know :) ....im never going taiwann again...but there is a place in walnut, that if quality blows i can go give em' a verbal thanks....

BMWX54.4 07-22-2009 03:57 PM

[email protected] 07-22-2009 04:03 PM

Looking good but too " Black " for my taste.

Anyway are those 20" or 22" ?

Werewolf 07-23-2009 07:49 PM

There's something you've done to the car but I can't quite put my finger on it......

BTW you need to add a Kitt-type red light to the front and maybe make it talk as well

C's Bimmer 07-23-2009 09:43 PM

Looks outstanding! A few questions...

1. Have you considered the Roundels? I had the Roundels on mine pulled by my Paint Guy and custom painted High Gloss Black and put back in. There is no chrome left on the Roundels, both front and rear.

2. Thoughts on doing the calipers black? That's my next project.

Love what you've done! Great job!

Thank you! Your truck as well is amazing.:wow:

Im not quite sure what you are referring to as far as the roundels?

I thought of doing black calipers just havent really gotten around to it. I stay so busy with school and work just not much time. I recently had BMW do a full brake job so I might try to get around to that soon.

Here you go. Take a look at the BMW Roundels on your hood and trunk. Notice the chrome around the circumference? Mine were painted a custom, high gloss black.

Here's the front. I held up a stock roundel so you could compare. See the difference? :D

http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/m...Resolution.jpg

Here's what the rear roundel looked like BEFORE it was painted. This is an old picture, when the car was VERY dirty, so please excuse the filth. ;)
http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/m...1024x768-3.jpg

Here's the rear roundel after it's been painted (2 pics). It's kind of hard to see in this picture, but the rear roundel on the X's have a lot more chrome, as the roundel is much more pronounced(see picture above to compare), compared to the front which is much more flush/flat on the hood.

http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/m...Resolution.jpg

Here's what the rear looks like from a distance:

Based on what you did to your car, you might want to consider.

The rear roundel is actually one piece, not 2. You would think it's two, as it appears it would be the same as the front plus the additional, thick mount for the rear. Not the case. It's one piece.

I had my body shop pull both roundels from the truck, tape around the logo's and paint all the chrome, high gloss black, followed by a few coats of clear coat. Unfortunately, you can't buy it this way. It has to be custom done. But that's what makes it unique.
