My New LQQK
Took off the hood protector, but not quite feeling the look without it. To leave it off or to put it back on, that is the question.

looks a lot better now. i cant stress a lot enough.
|
I was going to get one, way back in '01, but passed.
I am surprised they don't offer them in color matched, or some color besides the smoked plastic look. Yeah, I know one get it painted, but... Your white X looks a lot cleaner without it, imo. GL,mD |

Looks much better and cleaner without it! How about the clear bra.... the vinyl type that contours to the vehicle and is undetectable?
|
I would leave it off, I'm not a fan of the hood piece or a bull-guard for that matter. The grill will look better silver with the silver skid IMO.
|
;-)
Can't quite get that you like the look of it more than without....... Reminds me of my days with my pops 5 and the Colgan Bra's |
Looks much better without it IMO. Why not try taking the matching piece on the sunroof off as well? It would look even cleaner.
|
Just put clearbra. You won't regret it. It has been on all my cars since 2003.
|
Without!
|
Definitely without.
It looks very out of place and dated when on the vehicle...worst than black wheels. |

Paint the grill titanium or get a titanium grill. Still 2nd thoughts, read post 102 in this thread. ;) |

+2 And also get a titanium grill.:) |
Better without, but if worried about chips, re-install it when putting your X on the highways

better without ....

without should look better...
|
When it's installed does it work?
Clear bra is very expensive. Either way, your choice |

If I put it on ( I don't have one yet)
It would blend in perfectly. Does it scratch anything with the install, or staying mounted? |

The prices in link are list. You can negotiate a better deal with installers, and these days its even better deals as they barely get any business. |
I'd leave it OFF.
Since the X5 is my winter car I don't mind the stone chips (a dozen more from last season)... adds character. If the X5 is your baby I can see how you could be concerned. |
Def better!
|
Put it back on - now it looks too much like mine!!!
|
Definitely without the hood protector for me.
And if you do go for titanium silver grill, you might want to go black for the outline of the grill (that is currently chrome). Have a go first on photoshop or just use black tapes before actually painting it to see how it turns out first. |

looks horrible with that protector...
you have been hiding a beautiful front end- if you want to protect paint use a clear bra.. keep protector for long drives on highway.. |
Thanks for all the input guys, will go with the majority:thumbup:
|

|
