Final Pics: Flat White Pearl w/ Gloss Black Roof

http://www.individualsole.com/image/x5/DSC00389.JPG

Been lagging on posting up pictures of my 4.4i after its paint job about a month ago after it was keyed up pretty bad. The paint was done by Garage Inc. in Burlingame, CA. The color scheme is a Flat White paint with a Blue Pearl with a Gloss Black Roof & Rims, along with flat black door jams. Also I painted the interior trim to gloss black. Original paint was Silver, if you were wondering. Let me know what you guys think!

Beaultiful

Very unique. I like your roof and jams idea.

j944 07-13-2009 10:26 PM

Great looking color, I like the pano style roof as well. I like the style of wheels just not painted black.
Over all great job:thumbup:

ZsX5o3 07-13-2009 10:35 PM

that looks pretty incredible imo.

themoth 07-13-2009 10:45 PM

Dig the roof, anymore shots of the roof? Love the attention to detail on the inside frame. Black looks great painted there, nice contrast.

dsm2925 07-13-2009 11:34 PM

speechless:drool:

dsm2925 07-13-2009 11:37 PM

can i ask how much paintt was?

Weasel 07-14-2009 12:01 AM

Looks like they sprayed a light tint on the tail lights as well...

Lookin good! Any plans with the headlights?

Insurance took care of it. The overall job, I believe was in the $6000 range.

I do wish I went with flat black on the rims. I'm looking for some 21" or 22" to put on, so these will be my beaters.

D ROCK 07-14-2009 12:03 AM

VERY cool, a lot of the X's people post about are the black, silver etc, nice to see an awesome modded white one, love the 4.6 body parts and the paint scheme. While I prefer matte black on everything, yours looks fantastic. Wish my wife would go for something similar, but seeing as it's her car and not mine, she only let me do minor things to ours (style 87 rims). Would love to paint our rims and maybe get a black grill. I also got carbon wheel center caps and will probably do the hood/trunk/steering wheel as well to get rid of the blue. We have a tan interior as well, so it's tough doing some of the mods with our combo. I wanted to try the gauge rings and faces, but will probably only do the rings in a titanium. Great X you've got there though!

TaMbALoLoNg 07-14-2009 12:14 AM

Flat White..... If it floats your boat:thumbup:.

LeMansX5 07-14-2009 12:17 AM

What was the original color of your X?
Should have side-to-side comparo with Alpine white.
Nice job.

b1x 07-14-2009 12:20 AM

awesome!
I give you credit for having the balls to mod it the way you did!
Great job!
What are peoples reactions when they see it in real life?
do you have 4.6/4.8 seats? your leather looks like Nappa leather

Dannyell 07-14-2009 12:26 AM

looks great...

CharlieHustleX5 07-14-2009 01:57 AM

Digg the roof paint. Had that on my Honda a couple years back.

I'm partial on the door jambs. I see the scheme you were trying to achieve, I guess i'm just too used to the typical style of jams matching the exterior color.

The color scheme was all chosen by Garage Inc. The former color of my car is in my avatar, Titanium Silver, so it is a big change. All I told them is that I wanted a flat colored paint job. It is hard to tell from the pics, but the pearl really pops of the lines of the car when the sun hits. During a gloomy day, it is similar to Alpine white, but otherwise it is completely different.

I know it must be hard to believe, but lately I've been enjoying driving the X5 more than my C63. I guess because it is so different.

Yeah, they went a little darker than I wanted. The headlights were re-finished and given a light tint to them also. It is hard to tell, but if you look closely, you'll notice it.

They are stock 4.4i Sport Package seats that are two-toned black and charcoal.

bankerkys 07-14-2009 02:57 AM

Looks wicked. A+.

chilliwilli 07-14-2009 08:15 AM

Tasteful overall theme...nice touch with the black calipers. Now slap some fender flares on her

noddyunplugged 07-14-2009 08:34 AM

Individualsoul, I'm completely speechless - what a beautiful, and original X!
Very well done!

jst2878, rims and dumping the car is on my list next. My new UPS Store is slow going and I'll need to wait. Yours is sitting real nice.

Thanks everyone for the comments, I know it may not be for everyone, but I that's why I like it.

Very cool. Looks like some sort of futuristic luxury cop car.

jburgos3 07-14-2009 12:55 PM

niiiiice...clean white with the right black accents looks so damn clean, black roof def gives the pano look

IMOLAredNC4.8is 07-14-2009 01:02 PM

Everything on that car looks awesome. Maybe remove roof rack? It would show off the roof better.

Looks great! The AMG looks mean in the garage! Ohh and glossy black running boards would fit the theme also!

BMWLOVER 07-14-2009 05:23 PM

That is absolutely beautiful!!! Love the rims and the roof.

Clearly your "other car" should be an E46 M3

The X looks sick man, well done. You don't see too many other X5's with M6 wheels...love it. I'm looking for the M6 wheels for our M3.

Also, I have a set of 22'' aftermarket "5 star" wheels on Pirelli Scorpion Zero's in absolutly near-mint condition if you are interested. PM sent to you if you'd like!

Anyway congrats on the NEW X!!!!

JCAPX5 07-14-2009 06:40 PM

Ooooops!

PM me for my 22's and Pirellis for sale.

The other car would have been an 08 M3, but the Stealers were marking up orders $10,000 at the time here in the Bay Area. I just cleared my inbox if you want to send me pics of those rims.

simoncpw 07-15-2009 11:31 AM

Very very nicely done. She is absolutely a beauty!

Congrats!!!

Your X is BANANAS!!! I love when somebody steps outside the box and dares to be different. There are way too many cookie-cutter X's out there with no originality or imagination.

Yours is definitely in my top ten ever seen on this site. Richie Rich you're one of my top ten too dude.

X Foomph 07-16-2009 11:00 PM

Congrats, great theme with excellent results.
Like Michelle said, we need to see the lid contrasting with the body. Nice one

........The OP never said anything about trying to replicate a pano sunroof, just wanted the gloss black roof for contrast. I think it came out great and very original. Can you show me one other E53 with this scheme?

MB isn't the only car company with blacked out/pano roofs, homie! Although it maybe "played out" in Socal, I'm in Norcal. The paint job may not be for everyone, but it made me like driving it more than I used to.

totally agreed i was thinking of doing vinyl wrap of the roof... in carbon fibre... DECALFX.com! CARBON3™ VINYL! Carbon Fiber Hyper Black Looks Realistic with WEAVES! Low cost, high quality vinyl film overlay sheets! Textured for hoods, custom interior dash trim moulding!

Definitely in my top ten of rides as well... curious, how much was the job for custom paint?

petener999 07-18-2009 03:09 PM

Very well executed! If my 4.6is come in Alpine white I would do the same. Again, very nice.

Nice set up..... I love what you have done! I went the other direction with mine, black on black........ I Also chose the same wheels as you. I opted for the red stripe on the lip to make the Brembo BBK pop!

I was able to hook up with a Miro distributer in So Cal and got to check out their entire line of products before I settled on the M6 replicas. They very accommodating and put on several wheels so that I could get a feel for what they would look like on the X. Here are a few pic's.....

BTW, you can put BMW roundels from ebay on the Miro wheels. I did that on my set of Miro M6 wheels.

bigfish 10-15-2009 01:21 PM

Yep... I have been running 315's all around for the past 3 years. It allows front to back rotation and greatly extends tire life. Yes 30mm H&R in the rear. I dig the Miro caps myself..

bf

X5X 12-14-2009 01:29 PM

nice

EKS PYB 12-14-2009 07:36 PM

I didn't know 315/20s would fit in the front. I've always believed that it is too wide. Definitely a great idea of being able to rotate tires to save wear and tear on the rear ones.

If only I had known, I could have done the same.

bigfish 12-14-2009 07:49 PM

I thought the same thing at first. Their is actually plenty of room in the front wheel wells for those bad boys. Maybe next time...
