Latest Saga
The rough morning starting finally turned into the vehicle bucking as if it were misfiring or running out of gas. I had to make a trip and didn't want to try it, so I stopped into a dealer and got a loaner and left the car for repair. I had a Z4 convertible for the weekend and did about 500 miles in 3 days...lol.
After $1100 they found a vacuum leak, and needed to replace a bunch of hoses(oil return and seperator, etc) and intake gaskets. The local BMW specialist my cousin suggested (who was closed Friday when I called) said he would have done that job for $375. I am sick. Anyway, after getting the car and driving 20 miles the celight started flashing and the car bucked harder than it ever has. Next day it went back and they said a coil was not solidly attached. The codes that clicked were multiple misfires and a few others. I got it back and in less than 10 miles the same thin happened and the cel light is on. I told that with the car still doing what I brought it in to have fixed, it appears the job they did was unnecessary. They took it back and asked me to give approval to do whatever is needed to fix it. And my response was they must be out of their cotton picking minds. Call me and tell me what you plan and we will discuss before you do anything because they have lost all credibility with me at this point. I have the loaner and they are keeping the X for a few days to see what they can come up with. any ideas? |
