What does the US or Canada compliance label look like?
hi all, i've been living in switzerland for an eternity. i'm thinking of moving back to canada where i'm originally from. i bought an X5 in 2002 in switzerland and am heartbroken to find out that it looks like i probably can't bring it into canada.
unless, that is, it has a US or Canada safety compliance label affixed. it's a bit hard to look for at the moment since i'm in canada and the car's in switzerland but if i had a photo or something, maybe i would recognize it or ask a friend to go have a look for me. could anyone post a pic of this label for me? it would be really appreciated. thanks. |

Not sure about canada, but I just registered a 2003 X5 in CA from out of state. They checked for the EPA sticker to make sure it specifically stated compliance for CA. This may be related to emissions only - not sure if it also covers safety compliance. Anyway - the sticker was on the inner fender pass side under the hood near the cowl area. Not sure if it mentioned Canada - I don't recall that it did - seemed it only mentioned US regulations. Anyway - that is one place to look. Otherwise could be on the drivers side doorjam. |
