Dudes & Dudettes--Sorry for the delay in responding to this request (I guess I was locked away in the basement so missed this post :))

These were taken when the car was still in the UK...Enjoy!

Nah...just lucky. I think it was Mark Twain who said "...the harder I work, the luckier I seem to get..."

BTW, love your stable of BMW's, too!

:wow: I don't think I've ever seen a z1 before. The doors go down into the side skirt?!? :wow:

Hey Budget,
Just poking around reading sundry threads (as you do) and came across your beautiul Z1. Wow, what an awsome looking machine.
I never knew the doors tucked away like that. Is it legal to drive with them down ??

Yes it is a nice tow-er . . .

I have done over 350 miles one-way, multiple trips, no issues in towing at interstate speed with brakes, wind, wiggle, or power / torque / transmission on hills (no mountains in my hood). I am considering a enclosed trailer some day, but for now, U-haul prices ($50 a day) are hard to beat.

Saw my first Z1 at the BMW museum (grand re-opening last year), that is a sweet ride you have.

Thanks! I drive with the doors down a lot of the time. It makes for some pretty good turbulence inside the cabin, but isn't that what convertibles are for?

Thanks, Dob...I saw my first Z1 at the original BMW Museum (before they built the BMW Welt) in Munich in 1989. I thought it was the coolest thing I had ever seen and could only imagine owning one some day. When my company sent me to work in London for a year, the planets were in alignment and I knew I would never have another chance. It took me 6 months to find this one (24K original miles). I drove it over there for about 4 months (another 2K miles), then it spent another 6 months in shipment, EPA/DOT testing, and shipment again to me in Arizona. Not easy, nor cheap, but you never remember what it cost when you finally get a car that you really enjoy...:D
