thanks guys...well sadly to report the dealer sold the X5 out from under me. Someone local bought it. So i'm on the search for another.

There are others out there, and alot of the trade ins go to wholesale auction. If you tell the local area dealers used car managers that you are looking for one they can hold them when they come in before sending them straight to auction. That's how I got mine! :D

FYI! Electronic upgrades are a big problem on 2000-2003 X5s. As a 2001 owner, I would recommend your look for a 2004-2006, which will make your electronics mods a whole lot simpler. IMHO

SGM3 - I was in a similar condition to you, and although a different beast, the X5 is a welcomed change to the harshness of the E46. If you cant push a 04-06 4.8, maybe look into a 4.4 sport. I think the BMW's are more for their feel than the number of G's. The x5 still keeps the BMW feel, but is much more relaxing
I do miss my M3, and hope to move the X5 to the wife when her jetta dies, so I can get back into a trackable vehicle (would love a 4 door 335 or M3 in the future) Good luck with the search! |
wassup Sean...glad you found it over here...hope you get to find one soon...
