cd changer question
hey guys, i own 2006 x5 3.0i
my car doesnt have cd changer/mp3 but has navi. if i buy any cd changers from car audio store, does it gonna fit into my x5? cause bmw one is too expensive. thanks! |
No, it won't. You should be able to get a good used one for under $200. Personally I would skip the CD changer and install an iPod interface adapter.

Love our iPods but for some reason don't end up using them that often in the X and more importantly like the fidelity on the cd's. Also, if you go with a changer confirm you are getting one of the latest (OEM BMW) ones that reads MP3's. If you're looking for iPod like quantities of music you can burn a CDR of MP3's AND it dispays all the ID3 tags/metadata on the Nav screen. Sweet. We got ours from a forum member for under $300. FYI Dice iPod kit for our E46 M3 works like a charm and I enjoy the iPod there...super easy install for either the changer or the Dice they both plug in to the changer connector already in the back of the bimmers. Good luck! |
