nav/radio screen went blank, + several other issues!!

X5 issues

I have a 2001 X5 3.0 with 105k miles & are looking for some solutions to some problems. Here are some of the issues I continue to have:

1. nav/radio screen went blank. Radio/cd plays but unable to see anything on the screen. I have tried playing with the blue wires in the truck by the battery with no success. I also removed the wires on the nav changer. The nav CD ejects without any problems. But the screen continues to stay blank. I wanted to remove the radio but was unable to remove the vents located above the nav/radio.

2. Sometime I get an error/ on the display when the car is 1st started. When this happens the radio will not play at all. The solution my wife found was to slide the mirror cover in the visors & then it comes on like someone touched an on switch. Another set of error that show up on the display are the Brake, ABS, and DSC yellow lights.

3. I recently changed the front O2 sensors but continue to get error codes… Sometimes the codes come on & stay for a day to a week before it just vanishes away. There isn’t any noticeable change in drivability when this occurs.

4. Any solutions to the weird engine oil consumption.

5. is there a brake squeal issue with BMW’s.

6. Sometime when starting, it runs very rough & drives with a vibration. When it is shut off, to attempt to start again it suddenly starts fine & run smooth like normal.

7. Other times it will not start at all. This problem has not happened in a few months since I changed a few parts.

8. The AC blows extremely cold & the heats is very hot. The automatic climate controls doesn’t seem to adjust well.

These are the parts that were recently changed:
Electronic thermostat control, water pump, upper/lower radiator hose, camshaft position sensor exhaust, gas cap, thermostat sensor, front O2 sensors x2, battery, brake pads, rotors & sensor.

Obd II codes recently cleared:
Po442 main catalyst below threshold (bank 1)
123- Electronic thermostat control
18- Camshaft position sensor
244 crank segment tone measurement

Last two codes that I am unable to get ride of: p0174 & p0344. Sorry for the lengthy post; I am desperately trying to avoid taking it to the stealership (dealership) since I have been doing most of the work on the vehicle. These were scanned from AutoZone.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Ignition switch bad. Replace first. Navi drive possible bad also. Get a real BMW scantool and then use it diag. Generic codes sometimes don't help.

Where exactly is the Navi drive located? Is it built inside the nav/radio?

Would an upgrade to the widescreen 16:9 solve this problem?

Anyone has any solutions to my radio issue?

Tks
