iPhone lowwww...volume on Bluetooth

My 2005 X5 Bluetooth has worked perfectly with my Motorola E815 phone, reasonable volume.

I bought a new iPhone 3Gs and the phone pairs perfectly but the volume over Bluetooth handsfree is cut in half, its virtually unuseable when driving due to road noise

Anyone else experience a similar problem??

Did you push the + on the volume control?

I had the same problem when I first used my iPhone. Make a call in the car with bluetooth and turn the volume up on the side of the iPhone. There seems to be a separate volume control for the iPhone when bluetooth is in action.

I just tied this suggestion and it seems to have worked in a static test, will drive tomorrow to test with road noise.

I spent an hour at the Apple store and an hour after that on the phone with Apple Tech support telling them that the phone had low audio output. I floored that the Genius Tech experts at Apple never heard of my complaint.

That may be because turning up the volume on
both the phone and the vehicle is the first thing people do.:rofl:

When I junked my iPhone 2g for the 3gs, the bluetooth volume decreased also. Volume is up to 11 on the pair.

Prior to Saw 5's suggestion of raising phone volume "while connected to Bluetooth" both the iPhone and the car were at max volume. The suggestion did seem to open a new menu.

This makes me wonder if BMW might have a way to tweak the audio output of its system to raise the audio output of the phone higher as well

Any thoughts....

Same issue here. My iPhone 2G was fine and the 3GS volume stinks. Using the iPhone with Bluetooth handsfree is worthless. Plus I pay more for the ATT service. I'd almost rather go back to the 2G... :(

All i can say is try the suggestion by SAW 5, pair the 3GS with the car and once its paired THEN raise the volume on the phone....... it opens up a new volume menu thats only alive when the phone is paired.

It worked for me.

did that as well, still remains poor. SPoke to my SA and he is looking into it, it appears there have been several complaints with E70 owners as well. Going in to see him on Saturday, will let you know.
