1. don't turn on your fog lights right after you turn the engine on but turn them on after you turn engine on at least 15 seconds. Why?
When you turn the engine only, your truck electrical power and supply, running thru and distributed to all systems [radio, dash board, lights etc] and as well as your truck hid ballasts [at this point ballasts receive (input) all electric source before they giving power out the HID bulbs. Giving your truck sometimes to operate all full electrical power supply and your fogs hid bulbs are not an exception.

I used to experience this with my pathfinder window regulator motor (power window down right after turn on engine. As a result, window motor broke)

Dont waste money to buy more stuffs and making your truck heavier without thinking the logical of electric flow.

yeah i sometimes have to wait a bit after i start the car too to avoid an error. but if you are still getting errors sobi its another issue.

capacitors don't really make your truck heavier.. just fyi...

So, was there a resolution to this?

Added resistors (no flickering when car starts). But in order to shut down ERROR messages from dash, better to start HID fogs not same time you start up the car,a 30 seconds later. As i noticed if i start up the car and turn on HID fogs,it might SAY CHECK FOG lIGHTS sometimes, but not always. IT is crazy X5 mind. But at least no more flickering after resistors.

I got my foglights at www.hidextra.com for $60 shipped. They guarantee no errors and a two year, no questions asked warranty. I used the coupon code "besthid-m" and make sure to ask for free capacitors that go inline of the connections. I haven't had any problems like you have, but I'm glad you were able to get yours fixed...at least half way.

You get the X sold yet?

sobi, do you still have fog hid problem?

Moh, work hard is not better than work smart buddy. I am not dumb to put capacitors in my truck if they don't help to solve my problem.

HID and Capacitor are the same term for your xenon bulbs support sobi. You stated in previous post that your fog HID still having problem after installed capacitors. I experienced the same problem before but i didn't install capacitors, i just don't turn the light on short after starting the engine and it works fine. It's great that your problem was gone.

Are you sure???? HID is ballast itself. Capacitor is add-on to remove flickering. :dunno:
