Well, then their most experienced, thorough and quality minded tech is the best they can do for you.

I just wrote a technical inquiry to ZF Canada.
Will see what they've got to say about it.

Ask them about the diff rubber mounts and I know how you feel and I had the spark plugs changed with no luck, I also had the MAF replaced with no luck so now it seems to come down to either the diff mounts so thats my next $tep. Other than that the X5 drives beautiful and safe.

I doubt that they have an answer about the differential mounts, that would be more BMW dealership question.I really doubt about the mounts.
More like transmission related thing to me.
Do they offer a full refund if changing the mounts doesn't solve the problem ? ;)

I am considering it as well,it's got time until May,if I can't solve tranny shudder thing am gonna get rid of it.

diyanich 02-25-2011 10:21 PM

After 1 year and a half of waiting for a right time to drop it for warranty repair and ultimately, convincing the shop mechanic that shudder isn't what I am gonna live with,I got the X back without any shudder, the TC was redone under warranty, also they claim that there was some kind of bushing or what ever it is in some shaft,I don't really care since right now I have it running the way it should run after a tranny rebuild.
Knocking the wood and hoping to forget the way to the shop.
