Ok so here it is, anybody know what is means??

valex9499 09-03-2009 08:45 PM

wow, sorry for the oversized pics

Circa 1965, back in the VW Micro bus daze, we used to say, "If it's rockin', don't be knocking"...sorry, I couldn't resist.

In my, our your handy dandy manual, that indicator light says Level Control System needs attention: the self-leveling
suspension control system is glitching, broken, shot, taking a nap.

Some other more knowledgeable posters here may offer more help; so will your local dlr, for big bucks, or a good BMW Indie.

That would be the indicator light for the self leveling suspension. The high cluster spells it out in lettering across the display, the low cluster just uses a pictogram. If I had to guess, I'd say you have a 3.0i with the self leveling/rear air suspension option as a stand alone option vs coming as a part of the sports package.

By the way, this is where you can find the info via downloading the complete owners manual as a PDF file.

BMW North America

Has the vehicle had any sagging ,like before you start it in the morning one axle looks lower than the other?

valex9499 09-03-2009 09:01 PM

thank but do you know what the problem might be?

motordavid 09-03-2009 09:05 PM

Yeah, I think the self-leveling suspension is on the blink; either physical or
computer instigated...my guess is the rear air suspension component(s) are
fading. Here is a link with similar situ and fix, found via the handy Search
Tab, upper right of the home page or, any page one is reading.

I believe MD pointed out the possibilities but not knowing what vehicle you
have including the year and so forth makes it a guessing game.

How about thanking Weasel for pointing out exactly what it is...he's a BMW tech.
