question on adding oil

can you top off the oil with mobile 1 when the engine runs to bmw oil?

I'm talking about 1 quart.

Isn't mobile 1 0-40 while BMW puts 5-30? different weights is not recommended...

ah the ole oil discussions, I have read that you can mix em...new oils are compatible with each other regardless of weight or brand, but I wouldnt mix to a 50/50 mix, for topping up I reckon it is fine

Mobil1 is generally available in 5w30 in most locales.
