passenger mirror fix

anybody know how i get the passager mirror to stop going down into parallel park mode.somtimes it does it ,some times it dosent,is it due to a memory seat setting?thanks

Move the switch to the drivers mirror. When the switch is left on the passenger side it lowers the mirror when put in reverse.

Re: passenger mirror fix

When the toggle to adjust the mirror is to the left it will dim. WheN it is on the right it will not... Took me a little to figure that one out too.

Hi,

Does all E53 have this fonction? My electric mirrors work fine, but I seem not to have this feature. I was surprised as all my previous beamers had this fonction (E32-E36-E39).

Thx in advance ;)

it should definitely have it. maybe theres something messed up with your mirror motor

Of course it does..... From page 51 of the 2005 owners manual

Passenger-side exterior mirror
tilt function Automatic curb monitor
Activating:
1. Select the driver's mirror with the
mirror selection switch

2. When you engage reverse gear or
selector-lever position R, the exterior
mirror glass on the front passenger
side tilts downward slightly. This
allows the driver to see the area
immediately adjacent to the vehicle –
such as a curb – when parking, etc.

Deactivating:
Slide the mirror selection switch to the
passenger's side position.

Thanxs for your replies. I'm quite familiar with the use of the switch, and it does not fonction on my car. I hope the issue is related to the car key programmation (I did not knew that the key could be programmed for that function...). I've purchased the the X a couple of days ago, and I'll have to wait till the end of the month before the dealer can take it in!

BTW, great messageboard, thank you all I learnt a great deal of valuable info prio to my purchase
