Please help with Drivers seat heater - can I change it ?
 

Hello again,

Here in Canada winter is comming :yikes: and I completely forgot that my driver's seat heater has die last winter on my X5 E53 2001. Basically what's happening is: when I turn it on most of the time it shuts down in 2-3 seconds. Very rare it turns on and only some small part of the seat heats up but it heats up extremely hot and I can smell the burn lather.
Please tell me if I can simply buy somewhere heating element and change it. Is it difficult ? Price ? $

its part of the leather. you need to replace the entire leather cover.

:( how much does it cost aprox ? Is there any way to install heating pad (element) from other model of BMW ?
