Right Brake Light problem NEED HELP!!!

okay my Right brake light is out for about a week now and i changed the lightbulbs TWICE in 3weeks and they are brand new. Now i noticed the piece that holds the lightbulb and you turn it to lock. That piece when i lock it, it still doesnt work and it alittle loose.

:dunno:

Any advise with this????? :stickpoke

It happened to my moms 4.6is. the stealership said that the entire rear brake housing had to be replaced... i ended up pulling the prongs out further on the light bulb and it worked. Something happened with the heat and it messed up the prongs. I would try that? or try pulling the entire housing out and see if you can see a problem with the connection where the prongs hit the housing...

hope this helps!

A few months ago, my right rear brake light bulb blew out. Changed the bulb and noticed that the light would flicker. Changed the socket and now it works like a charm. Got a brand new OEM socket at the dealer for $13 dollars. ;)

yup, brand new socket will work fine.

and to the OP, it is advice, not advise...

yea i felt the socket was loose too and i was going to change just to check

Thanks guys tell how it works out

okay, normally it's either the socket or the bulb..., but found out last week the tailight boards these plug into also have arcing problems - found many holes in boards and have ordered replacements (~$154@)
