Check Oil level
Hi,
recently several times when i switch off my X an alarm is fired to check my oil level... several times not everytime, i know its time almost to replace engin oil, but is there any other problem like oil sensor or filters!! plz advice |
er, did you check the oil level , like it tells you , if oil level is good then you have some other problem on the car .
if you do not know how to check oil level on the dipstick then ask someone who does . the drivers handbook for the car should instruct on oil level checking . |
Also if the oil level is good, at the upper end of the crosshatching, there is an oil level/condition sensor in the bottom of the oil pan that is prone to this type of failures after years of service. It is easy to change with the next oil change after the oil is drained. Only 3 10mm nuts hold it on, but you gotta remove the metal stiffining plate to get to it.

the level is fine, why would the oil level be less with a 2006 engine! even there is no singl oil drop around .. nock the wood :-)
so thats why am asking.. could it be the oil sensor, especially that this alarm doesnt apprear everytime ;-) |
replaced oil and problem not there anymore :-)
