Transmission removal
 

Hello,

I really enjoyed the posts by swissfrank and dville doing some hard core tranny/transfer case rebuild work. Both jobs were excellent and super interesting.

One thing I have wondered long and hard about is what is involved in pulling the tranny from the X5 in a DIY fashion (jack stands, floor jack). The official docs on this show multiple BMW "special tools" involved but as was so elegantly shown by dville there some BMW "special tools" that we all have at our disposal.

Anyone with any info or better yet pictures of your setup used to yank the tranny out please share.
