ABS & DSC light on **UPDATE**

Dealer said most likely a speed sensor. Appt. this Monday. Also speedo quit.

Could this condition trigger the SES light? Because that came on too as the day went on. Seems to be running normal.

Thx.

Dealer was right, left rear speed sensor. SES was an O2 sensor, both covered by extended warranty. Had to order. Meanwhile I drive an '09 528I till Monday when it's done.

Looks like a battery or alternator problem

Hmmm. Why?

When I was dropping my kids off this morning the ABS engaged as I came to a stop. Wasn't on anything slipery, then noticed the light on. The fact that there is no speedometer or odometer nor an economy meter points me toward the speed sensor. SA said rear wheel suspect.

I had the DSC, ABS and Brakes light come on for a few days straight the other week. I noticed the air in the front tires were at 27 instead of 32. I put in air and no more lights starting the next day.

When your lights were on did the speedometer work?

Yes . . .

Could be the steering angle sensor also...But no odometer reading for speed is a little wierd. I haven't had that before..

When the battery starts to go electronic gremlins start to pop up (My guess form the speedo no longer working)

Test the battery and alternator.

I have not tested the battery or alternator, but the electrical system seems fine, as far as plenty of power for everything.

From the sound of it, in my professional opinion, it may end up being the instrument cluster itself causing the problems. If you have the faults read and it is the left rear sensor fault stored, it conceeds with what I'm saying as the signal wire from the left rear passes through the cluster to get to the DSC module.
