Yeah...thats what Im thinking. Plus not to mention...its really hard to total a BMW (even though I successfully did it) When these things go to the body shop for repairs...they are not cheap...which means bigger opportunity for profits at the body shop. Just because a body shop is super clean does not mean it is not mismanaged. Sounds more of an excuse than a reason...

If BMW quality was so bad he should have been swimming in business and making a ton of money.... I don't get it. |
Dude was swimming already in a TON OF MONEY......I can't really get into but I could see the reasonings behind it. Besides, after having a 30++++ year run, why not enjoy life instead of working.
A good bodyshop or tuning shop is hard to come by with people u trust. My tuning shop split *partners* and now I can't decide to go to either partner A or partner B's shop.. |
so the closing of this body shop AND the quality of BMWs does not have a direct relationship?
maybe these are two different ideas which should be on different threads to clear this confusion...imo |
Has to be another reason. If he's made tons of money and want to retire, he could have sold his business to someone. Successful businesses are worth alot of money. Maybe he lost his lease, then again he can relocate. Just don't know why either?

Perfect 2005
I have a 2005 with 4,000 miles on it.
It has been perfect since day one. :) And the dealer was great. I think the quality is quite good! |
I've owned 3 Bimmers so far and I think they all are up to par. Of course you need to check where the majority of the vehicle is assembled (sad to say).
The most annoying occurence I have had with any BMW so far is when the weatherstripping on my 2003 M3 decided it didn't want to stay on any more. This was fixed under the warranty but still it shouldn't have happened (very common on E46 series). |

I'm not sure what a person has to believe in to do body and fender work. Are we talkin morals? Ethics? What? I guess i'm like others who don't see the logic unless of course a person was somehow connected to BMW. But then I don't have to see the point. It's his decision. Just my 2 cents. |
