Hey i saw the black grilles on ebay and saw people on here had bought them but then had to alter them to fit there hood latch. so i just but some gloss black automotive spray paint and primer sanded them down a little bit then sprayed them only took about 2 hours most of which was drying time.

Nice. I bought mine and they don't fit too well. I think I'll give it a try tomorrow. Is that a glossy finish? It looks matte.
|
It is the best thing i could find at advanced auto parts-the brand is Dupli-color tp100 universal black is the color. its more shiny than matte though
|
If you want gloss, try clear coating it after it is fully cured.
|
It look good..... but with spray paint it will get beat up after the snow and salt season.
|
use Plasti dip spray... f'in awsome! its the big thing one other bimmer forums.

Nice job. Same mod I'll be doing on our silver X. However, I'll be leaving the chrome trim as is and painting the center part semi-gloss black. IMHO, the black contrast on lighter colored vehicles, suit the black grill better than the titanium.

Looks good,i did the same thing.
Your wheels should be there soon Buddy! :) |
If i were you, i didn't paint on chrome.
