Exhaust tips
 

I am going to install some new mufflers on my X5 and I am not sure what kind of tips look the best. I don't know if I should just get two big round ones or four tips (two on each side), or anyothers that look good. Any suggestion is good. Thank you

do the 4.8is or 4.6is style! definitely looks good on the X

4.8 or 4.6 tips look the best. the quad look of 4.4 tips aren't bad either..

BE DIFFERENT!!!!!!

I just don't understand why when it comes to things like this (especially wheels) that everyone recommends "make yours look like everyone elses".

If your X doesn't have 4.6/4.8is kit..... The quad look are better.

mentioning that, do you know where you can buy that kit?

i prefer the quad tips... i went through the idea of changing to the ovals but really like the quads.

Me too! I mean if you have an excuse to do something that is different from every other X5 out there, why would'nt you?

I have the quads myself but thats only because I purchased my X with them. I always did love the 4.6/4.8i/is tips though, they look great too. but so do my quads to be honest.

If i were trying to find the 4.8 styles though id be searching ebay....

Isnt that strange? I cant seem to find exhaust tips for any X5 other then 3.0 (V6) ... Ehh what gives?

Funny, all this talk about Exhaust Tips and not 1 picture. Maybe someone could post theirs for bragging rights. IMHO

Granted, mine just aren't tips. But it is an exhaust solution!

When I hear about 4.8 tips, first thing that pops in my head are tips like ones in this pic below:

Mine are just chrome OEM tips. I had to take the black ones off that came with the sport package, but I like them.

are tips a big no no? i hate the way my 3.0 exhaust looks and i'm kinda tight with money.

What does that mean? Why would tips be a big no no?

It's your car, do what you want with and if it makes you happy, then it's all good.

I dont think its a matter of making yours look like someone elses!I think its dependant on what model X5 one has!I had a 3.0D ..which doesnt have any tips...and I chose the 4.8 mufflers/tips...!
If I had a 4.8is,I would probably go for the 4 tips option as on the 4.4i but with bigger diameter...Just my 2 cents!

If you want to be different but classy, go to a reputable muffler shop. They should have a catalog of different styles and you can set yourself apart from the crowd. Ask to see what tips are available for your application and have them install the exhaust tips that give you the look you want.
