You can move them forward SLIGHTLY but thats just about it, they were built i believe to stay in one position. But don't let that fool you from buying them, they really are Sony lasers, they really are very decently working bright headrests.

Can you imagine that your 6'4", 235lbs and move the seat back for me to how I would sit, then take some pics  I wanna see how bad that angle is or isn't going to be, otherwise i'm going to have to keep shopping.

1) The green wire is indeed antenna. I am sorry that I did not mention it in the DIY but i guess it must have slipped out. The green wire is optional to connect. It is antenna for the AM/FM Radio features of the headrests.

2) I cant say since I just connected it directly to the power and ground cables already there for the cigarette lighter.

Thanks Simon, so the way I understand is the green wire (one from each DVD headrest) just plugs into the green wire extension to make a 31 inch FM antenna. It does not connect in any way to the x5's wiring.

Ignition I found was purple/white on the drivers side of the console, worked fine for me after tsting with a DVM

So can someone post pictures on there DVD headrests extended up and a close up photo of the silver bars. Mine do not stay up so I think they are wrong. I'm traveling or I would post my pictures.

No problem :)

About the headrest falling down as you pick it up, I believe that is how they were bent to be considering the extender bars do not have those small holes in them for the seats to clamp in. Im sure you can find a solution if you search hard enough for better extender bars to purchase and use but I honestly don't have any issues with that so I cant say where from.

+1 I'd like to do the same but am afraid the color may not match the leather in the car.

Hi ! did you remove the plastic tubes from seats before put wide bars ? I've tried yesterday but don like that widest part of the bar and plastic part of the current tube (where is native headrest is fitted) is not fit to each others - i'll attach pictures to show it..
