Disconnected battery now can't open tailgate need help
 

I have a 2001 X5 and disconnected the neg. post on the battery and closed the tailgate. Now I cant seem to get it open. Is there a manual release somewhere? How can I get it open?

See pic of the tap where my finger pointing at.

Remove the plastic plug from the inside the cargo area and pull it toward the interior.
