Need some advice, instrument cluster

Yesterday I installed a new stereo system in my X. My X did have the DSP, so I have a new head unit, amp and sub. I did use some factory wiring that we unplugged from the old head unit for amp trigger and few other things. Everything well fairly well and sounds great. In the process of the install, my battery went dead and we had to put a charger on the vehicle. When I started the car, I had a bunch of things showing up in the dash, i.e. dsc, brake, seat belt and ses. After moving the car most of these went away. But the seat belt light stays on along with the ses. And my turn signals work, but there is no indicators in the instrument cluster or high beam light. Do I need to unhook the battery to let things reset or is there something else that is the problem. Please help.

K-Bus is term used by BMW its basically a proprietary engine and vehicle control system bus. Check your connections and make sure everything is secure.

wrong

k-bus is short for body bus. it is the serial communication system that lets basically all body control units talk to each other.

i had similar thing, but i had brake light, ses, dsc and abs lights on after battery died and new stereo installed. i drove for 1 minute, and it was gone by itself. So try to drive,it might reset itself. If not,you connected something wrong

If I did not unplug anything other than the old DSP wires, where would I start looking for the k-bus?? Is it possible that there is a fuse blown somewhere??

This is exactly why finding stereo techs to update 2001-2003 X5s are rarer than hen's teeth - still need to yank my DICE Silverline and install an Intravee

Check fuses ,as you might shorten something, when connecting stereo. If you didn't disconnect your battery while installing.
