Its about time I post up pictures
Hey guys. I've been a member here for quite some time, I just don't really post. Mainly lurk since the X is my wife's car and not mine. Anyways just thought I'd share a couple pics of her ride.
Enjoy! http://photos.e46fanatics.com/data/5...and_M5_004.jpg http://photos.e46fanatics.com/data/5...and_M5_003.jpg |
:wow: That is hot!
|
HRE's...nice.
|
Very nice, especially the rims. Wonder if the front end wouldn't look a little better with blacked out kidney and hood top grills as they seem to blend in with the body colour rather than contrast it. In any event, nice looking ride. |
Nice and clean. Where in TX are you? I relocated to Grapevine myself.
|
Very nice... like the 4.6is spoiler on facelift bumper.
|
thanks for the comments guys! I really didn't go too much into the X5. It is my wife's car and she isn't as much of an enthusiast as I. We put the 4.6 kit on the car including the front flares as well which def give the car a great stance. I am thinking of putting some E53 4.8 wheels on the car and get rid of the current wheels. I would sleep better at night knowing that a set of stock wheels won't get messed up nearly as easy as these would haha.
|
Let me know if you really want to sell those HRE wheels.
|
I really would like to let them go. Now mind you this is my wife's car and they are not in perfect condition. I'd really like to trade out for some 4.8 wheels ideally, but I know that could be hard to come by.
|
Where did you buy your 4.6is Spoilers?
|
how did you get the 4.6is spoiler to fit the facelift bumper?
|
i think they are 4.8 spoilers.....
OP: Where in Texas are you? |

nice wheels! the 4.6 kit is interesting because I never thought that would fit on facelifted models. post up if you ever want to help an x member out with donating your wheels to my good cause.LOL but seriously
|
Please tell me how hard/easy the 4.6is front is to fit to a facelift before i rush out and buy it ?
|
To fit the 4.6is spoiler on facelift bumper is not hard at all
just same as you going to put the 4.6is spoiler on non 4.6is car ..... Just trim off the inside taps and fit it on with 3M windshield adhesive. |
HREs + 4.6is front spoiler = HAWT

That 4.6is spoiler lookd great!Better than the 4.8is full bumper,in my opinion.
Like many here,I didnt realize it was possible to fit..... |
Very nice wheels choice, The X5 looks great man.

4.6is Bpoiler on Facelift Bumper

Another mod coming my way....................... |
I am sure you will be able to.You may have to cut part of the 4.6is spoiler in the middle but this will be covered by the skid plate anyway...
I think I will try this myself. |
Nice!

4.8is Full Bumper (colored trim all around the lower mesh) Attachment 38103 4.6is Bumper Trim (does not go around the lower mesh) Attachment 38104 I like 4.6is trim because it's cheaper and much much easier to install than the complete front 4.8is bumper. I'll have to choose between the Decorative Skid Plate or the 4.6is front bumper trim because you can't have both......Depending on how it looks, I may just remove the Decorative Skid Plate. |
Nice touch, very unique...I've never sees the 4.6iS front skirt on a facelift X5.

to everyone else: Yeah the piece is easy to put on, you just have to trim the tabs and have the shop use some sort of adhesive to place it on the bumper. You guys need to get the fender trim pieces as well, it really give the X a much better and subtly wider look. Get both the front AND the rear trim pieces. I have seen 4.8s with only the rear. Really it was a quick project to make my wife's X5 look a tad bit more aggressive. I'm really wanting to get the lower front skid plate? Does anyone know where I can get it or how hard it is to install? Also ready to get rid of the wheels. I think the stock 4.8 wheels will give me a bit more piece of mind with her driving around.

BTW, I purchased my Decorative Skid Plate from BMW X5 Exterior Accessories 2000-2006 at Dealerfit.com I also paid $120 to a local body shop to have it painted (354 Titanium Silver). From the looks of it, I'll have to choose between the Decorative Skid Plate or the 4.6is front bumper trim because you can't have both...... http://www.xoutpost.com/attachments/...-my-bimmer.jpg |
Looks amazing!

To MrBMWX5 - Thx for the great pics and your continued support of those of us not as well versed on the 4.6/4.8 kit thing. You helped me as well on my post about my similar topic just days ago. Thanks man! To all - I had just started a new thread about a week ago about all this 4.6/4.8 kit stuff and many from the boards were kind enough to spell it out for me. Lots of good info and here is the link. http://www.xoutpost.com/bmw-sav-foru...-searched.html Also, I can share some pricing info I had nailed down with BMW of Morristown in NJ...they were fine with me posting and said to share with board members my findings. So, when looking at the 4.8 entire front bumper for this upgrade it may not be too much more expensive to go this route with this kind of pricing as opposed to just adding the 4.6 spoiler to your current bumper. That may be easier, and you may prefer the looks, but something to be said for having a brand new front end. Possibly getting rid of some wear or nicks on your current bumper. OK, anyway...not looking to jack the thread just wanted to share. Parts numbers and prices - And note that Morristown BMW in NJ, when selling these 4 pieces together, is offering some awesome pricing. They said it would be ok to point board members to them if people are interested. Buying the pieces individually does not get you this pricing, only as a set. As a side note from my original thread on this (which I'll post this in as well), a bunch of people said you'd be be near $2000 for the 4.8 kit painted. I could see this working out to $1500 for sure. So, Part number - 51117146578 Primed 4.8is Front Bumper $550 51127062601 "Support rear bumper" (aka rear spoiler piece) $275 51127062599 Support cover left $125 51127062500 Support cover right $125 $1075 with paint maybe around $1500!!!!! NICE! I'll keep you all updated as we progress if anyone is interested and once again big thanks to everyone for replying to my post and helped to clarify this upgrade for the rest of us! Hope to soon have one of the first Highland Green 4.8 replica's!!! |
hey thanks for the props! I actually want to get rid of these wheels as well, they have gotten a lot of wear and tear over time with my wife driving on them. I think someone could give them a better home. I want to get a set of factory 4.8 wheels but I can't find any for a good price. =(
