it happened to me before because i shut off my car while it was beeping (i have memo turned on). its a glitch..it went away after a few start ups..

disconnect the instrument cluster for 15 minutes.

Mine started doing that about a month now. I think its some sort of hourly reminder because it always gives 3 beeps 1 minute to the hour... say... 1:59, 2:59 etc...

This recently started when i made these changes:

Set a speed limiter of 60mph - gives one been as soon as i hit 60 mph ( kinda helpful and keeps you in check)
Set the Aux Vent for 6:00PM ( this is now deactivated, as in unchecked)

I am not sure what else i did... but now I know when the hour is approaching...

I've been having the same thing happen on my 4.8is.

this is the 3rd thread on this in 2 weeks some one must have an idea out there
it's not the hour chimes ,it's not seat belt and it is totally random when it happens sometimes it will go when the key is turned 3-4 times in a row then it wont do it for a day or two then it goes again ,
checked everything i can think of on the X but i can't work it out

mines been doing it for 3 months ,
it has been said it could be low battery but mine all seems good ,

drandazzo, I tried you suggestion and so far it has worked! I have started my X5 three times since then..
