Rear Suspension

My '02 X5 4.4 with 115kmi has newer struts, shocks & rubber. The rear air suspension works and without fault codes. However, bumps have been getting rougher and rougher where the car almost bucks in the back when I go over a bump on the highway. What is causing the stiffness? Last checked, the ride height was fine, airbags were not leaking, and tire pressure was fine. Since there's no rear coil springs, what would cause this?

Thank You,

X5Guy70

By rear struts do you mean rear upper control arms?

I'm not having any such issues on mine but i plan on replacing next spring.

I meant rear shocks and front struts replaced....sorry.

Maybe the new rear shocks are playing hard to.... erm, compress? The shocks are pretty much the only thing that can make the ride that stiff over bumps, short of the airbags being flat or overinflated. But if the ride height is normal then I'd suspect shocks.

Did you get OEM or bilstein?
