^ nice, thanks for the response!

i was looking to getting the Bremmer Kraft BR05 20 inch wheels and either Pirelli Scorpion Ice and Snows or Bridgestone Blizzak DM-V1

Haven't had experience with blizzaks. But I LOVE my pirellis. Low road noise and great traction. I go to Cornell, and we get pretty crappy winters. Our campus is basically one vertical hill. Didn't get stuck once, ice, snow, slush, etc. I plowed through over a foot with zero issues.

Ps, I have 20mm H&R spacers in the rear :)

another vote for Pirelli Ice and snows. another great reason for going with the 17" besides that they perform better, is that they cost WAY less. check pricing of 17" vs 18" or 19". you can save hundreds.

this would more than pay for 17" OEM rims that people are basically giving away on craigslist.

Hi Kev,
living in the Alps I can tell you that you have chosen a perfect setup with the UGs. Not a lot better around. Or let's say it that way: I would love to have that setup.
Have fun

Thanks mate ;)

Got my Winter setup on now. Fitted the DRA50 front and DRA60 rears. Drove 200km today into the Alps and guess what, it handled even better than with the 20's - what a dream - with the 20/30mm either side there was absolutely no degradation/wobble/understeer whatsoever.

Here's how it looks.

To be honest - I wish I'd gone for 40mm each side (instead of 30mm) at the rear, but it looks sooooo much better than without the spacers - and it's the right setup to maintain the same inset as the orginals.

The Goodyear UltraGrip performed brilliantly last year in the heavy snow across to Poland. I'd say even beter than the Pirelli Snowsport 240s that I had previously.

Cheers, Kev.
