Latest Mod...Paddle Shift
1 Attachment(s)
Paddleshift steering wheel. Wiring is easy. Right now it is somewhat rigged but works fine. I am going to re-wire and take some pictures. I want to make the wire harness look as close to OEM as I can. I think I know how I am going to do it but need a few connectors. Anyway..here is a pic. I will also post some pics of the completed wire harness when I am done. Many thanks to Rob_ for getting the parts I need.

Looks great!
I wish I could do all the mods yoy guys are doing but don't have the time (we have a 5 years old boy who is taking all my time) nor will the CEO let me...we got a huge end of the year vacation back to the motherland, and trust it's not cheap... |
Looks great  .

How fast are the responses from the flick of a paddle?
|
Despite what others have said...it feels about the same as shifting in sport mode. I did not do this upgrade for performance. I did it strictly for the cool factor. Plus..I think it looks good too..

If you don't mind me asking, how much did this run you aproximately?
I think it looks great. Job well done, and kudos to you for DIY. :) |

None the less, it's still a 10/10 mod in my books. Got any shots from other angles at high resolutions? Artsy stuff? :) |
I gotta figure a way to get the lower part (where the ///M is) to match the titanium trim. I think that would look really cool..any ideas...
The wheel was in the mid 400.00 range...plus the hub (needed for the paddle shifters to be wired into the tranny) It took a little over 30 minutes to do this mod...The trickiest part is getting the upper and lower trim pieces off the steering column. I have done the airbag enough times now so that it is not a big deal. Running the wires from the new hub down through the center console was a little tough too..but not to big of a deal. Connect the blue and purple connectors on the transmission wiring harness and its done. I have it taped in right now..but I will build a nice looking harness to make it look OEM...at some point in time. |
Looks great, Phillip! Great job!

20 inch 132s are my dream wheel. I really wish BMW would make them OEM. I would really like to keep this all OEM parts. But...those 20" 132s look incredible.
