Lights going crazy
 

Just traded in my 2003 X5 for a 2006 X5 and after three weeks I am getting different lights not working and then working and warnings on the dash at the same time.I will turn on the lights and the front right low beam is out. I turn them off and on again and its the left front light. last night right rear tail light out. Then turn signal. What the? Can anyone steer me in the right direction. I have saved tons of money on past repairs because of some excellent advice from this site and this one sounds expensive.

"I have saved tons of money on past repairs" + "Just traded in my 2003 X5 for a 2006 X5"......Why? Didn't you learn the lessons on the older one? Anyway, check the alternator and battery. A bad alternator or a weak battery cause all the trouble in the world.

please tell me you bought it with a warranty. PLEASE SAY YOU DID lol

if so, bring that baby back to the dealership. and even if u dont, its been only what? 3 weeks? bring it back and ask wtf is going on

It's replies like these that make people hesitate from asking questions on this site. Does anyone have an actual technical answer?

i'm not trying to be mean, sorry if youre offended...

i'm just wondering do you have CPO? if not its still probably worth it to bring it back to the dealer you bought it (did u buy it at an actual BMW dealership?) Since the purchase was so recent, they might work with you and fix it for free..

as said above, it might be the battery or alternator.
