I made a post about this in another thread, but I have a 2001 3.0 X5 & hit a seagull. This popped the headlight assembly off of the plastic adjusters. I hope that makes sense.

Will baking the headlight at 200F for 20 minutes soften the adhesive to be able to seperate the clear front from the rest of the assembly? If so, what about reassembly? Should new adhesive be applied?

I would be very careful putting a headlight into an oven, the clear plastic lense is hard, but it has a very low melting point. The edges of the oven closest to the headlights will have the most heat, and "boiling" in the plastic will occur.

You should be able to "pull" the inside reflectors back into their position without taking the lenses off, I have been able to do this in the past.

How do did you glue them together? What type of adhesive did you use?

Does anyone have any more pics.? I want to make sure they look good before buying them.

TIA.

Are you serious? Most cars in Europe and the rest of the world have clear signals. Silly Americans....

You can always use a hair dryer or heat gun, I think that's the easiest solution.
