SES Problem!!

hey guys..im new to this forum but am a very active member on audizine and vwvortex so i kno how the show goes...i recently purchased a 2001 x5 4.4 with 97k on it and it has been great to me up until about 2 weeks ago...first it started by throwin a SES light...no big deal...scanned it and it came up as o2 sensor bank 1 sensor 1..cleared the code..went through emissions, all my o2 sensor readings were perfect and i passed with no problem and the code hasnt come back since...now im getting random ses light coming on and off...scaned the it again today and got a P0011 code and a P0345 code...one is for camshaft pos. sensor bank 1...and one is for camshaft pos. sensor bank 2....the car runs perfect....what im wondering is do these two codes have something to do with one another os is it possible that both sensors just happen to go bad at the same time?? Because ive been getting these random codes all of a sudden made me think that maybe i have a faulty ecu because the other day my battery light started randomly flashing even tho the battery voltage and voltage coming from the alternator were both perfect..i would turn the car off and back on and the light would stop...hasnt came on in about 2 days...so what im wondering is, is there a way to diagnose a bad computer? or should i just change these two sensors and see if the SES light stays off?...i really dont feel like spending 150+ dollars on sensors if the problem lies somewhere else....any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!!

I had the same problem and received the same codes from a generic reader. However, when I brought the X to bay diagnostic, they scanned it with a GT1 and it came out with a different code - non related to the O2 sensor. Unfortunately, no one has been able to help me decipher the code itself. Hope this helps.

Id try and get it scanned with a GT1 and hope that it gives me more info on the codes. If it shoots off the same codes id say change the sensors and then check back.

Good Luck! :)

That's what pro codes reader (GT1)does.
