Leave tonight after work to South Carolina to get a 2004 4.4i X5! Really excited to add it to the stable and upgrade the wife's 2000 Explorer(anyone want to buy?). She is really excited as well!

I had some questions and couldn't get a firm answer via google so maybe the members here can help out. I know it has the xDrive, 745Li motor and a new 6sp trans. What about options/standard features? What does Premium Package get you? What does Sport package get you?(build/dealer spec says 19" wheels so I guess that is part of sport package). Some sites say all V8s get bi-xenon. Is that true?

What about some fun first mods? Is there an angel eye upgrade that is actually quality?

Personally, I think you should educate yourself on the features and packages BEFORE you buy and take delivery. This way, you can make an informed decision and have no regrets or remorse after buying. Also, be sure to have a PPI done by someone reputable. If the current owner won't let you do one, pass. The sport package comes with 18" wheels, 19" are an option. Have fun and good luck!

Hal - You're going to love your X....I also have a 2004 4.4 and it has been a pure dream owning it. You'll need to replace some front end components soon..the archives here will let you know what to look for....other than that, mine has been pain free for almost 73K. Good luck.

I am excited. We actually already have an extended warranty in place so if there are any nit picking items we get them knocked out here :)

You need to gank a set of speakers out from your warehouse:D

Eventually it will get the Stage 1 and x108 subwoofer system. For sure! iPod or AUX kit as well.
