New here

Hey everyone, I just purchased a Toledo Blue over Beige 2005 X5. I believe it has every option offered. After leaving the Audi/Porsche dealer where it was purchased with no warranty, I looked up the TSB's and the recalls and called my local BMW dealer to find out the car is a CPO!! Looking for a good set of winter tires and wheels since I have the 19's. Thanks to this site I figured out how to find the sticker on the BT box with the PK code and sync my phone.

A question I have is when I turn the steering wheel to the right the headlights follow but when I turn to the left the lights do not move is that how its supposed to be? Also how do I make the auto-dimming bright lights work?

I see that BSW carries an XM sat radio receiver box that I am def. going to purchase unless someone knows of a cheaper alternative. Also looking to get their subwoofer system with upgraded components , anyone have any experience with them?

Thanks in advance and I will try to get some pics up soon.

Yes because if they followed left it would be lighting up on coming traffic. It was a safety call. Welcome to the board.

Try Blitzsafe.com for the satellite radio unit. It connects to your cd changer wires and gives you satellite channel readout in your dash unit. We've had ours for 4 years and love it.

Ahh yes that makes sense now that you mention it.

I couldn't find an xm receiver and it also says I have to hook it up to an aftermarket pioneer amp. But thank you anyway.

Thank you, Xenons were a requirement for my next vehicle and so far I am very happy with them. Just wish I could figure out how to auto-dim the bright lights. I think the car has the feature.

by auto-dim do you mean the headlights turn off automatically? You can do this by leaving the switch all the way to the left.

i2ickei242 12-21-2009 03:53 AM

No, i was assuming the feature would automatically dim the high beams when it sensed on-coming headlights. Also is a euro switch like from ecs going to work the rear fogs by just replacing the switch or do wires need to be run to the rear?

That feature isn't there on our X's. I think it became available on newer models. like 07 and on
