i'm so pissed with my dealer.... my mileage before was 3,500km... and the new cluster reads 0... they don't know how to bring back the original mileage... and the service interval indicator was also reset.... but other instruments works just fine... what will i tell them?... btw, this is an authorized BMW dealer here in the philippines...

I'm with Drex, they should be able to program the new cluster through DIS, no questions asked.

yup.. but the big problem is that they don't know how! did they lack training on this part?

Yes, they lack training totally. It's an easy fix.

Well, consider your X5 is 3,500km newer!

Im sure I read somewhere that the X5 stored mileage data in a few different places and the car knew when you`d tried to fiddle it (I know in this case you havent, but the car might not know). I wonder if it would show up when hooked up somewhere that the mileage was incorrect?

Well when they recode the cluster, everything should match up fine. If they don't know how to recode the cluster, why don't they send it to another dealer in another country to do the job?
