Xenon D2S bulb replacement

My passenger side Xenon bulb went out again. (2nd time in 2 years)

I refuse to take it back to dealer and I'm going to DIY.

Anyone know where I can find a good deal on the OEM Philips D2S bulbs?

Thanks.

HIDExtra.com - The Best Source for HID Xenon Light Conversion Kits, then use the coupon code "besthid-m". I believe that should get you a discount and free shipping. I bought an HID conversion kit from them for $60 w/ two year warrant, free shipping and free resistors. Since you only need a bulb, it should be pretty cheap. I know you said OEM, but sounds like you've had no luck w/ them, let alone the price, so maybe its time to try someone else.

Thanks M5james

No problem. If I remember correctly, their based out of SoCal. Either way, shipping was quick to me. I forgot to ask for my resistors and they didn't flinch and shipped them the next day after I had a flicker a couple weeks after my initial order...it was my fault since I forgot to ask for them. The lady Michelle I spoke to seemed pretty nice.

what are the resistors? do i need to change them too?

m5james 12-25-2009 01:21 AM

No no no....resistors are for when you convert from halogen to HID, like I did in my foglights to preven the "check bulb" errors that happen when we do conversions. Since you're only swapping in another D2S, you're absolutely fine. I was just mentioning my resistor experience to say that they had good customer service. Just make sure that when you install the bulb that you don't touch it since the oils in our hands cause premature failure...just saying in case you or your installer may have touched them accidentally in the past.

If you brought it to the dealer last time, they should of used OEM parts. All repairs made at the dealer using OEM parts carry a 2 year parts warranty that includes labor. Do the smart thing here and go to the dealer.

By all means, if he can get them warrantied for free, then I'd do so.

actually i called the dealer and the 2 year warranty expired a month ago. isn't that always the case?

anyways, turns out the bulb is not the issue here. i replaced it but it still wouldnt light.

The site sells ballasts as well. I've found a 10% off coupon on other items as well, but I completely forgot what it was. Try to see what the pricing is on www.ddmtuning.com, or maybe even ebay if they have a good warranty.
