A-pillars, the pillars between your windshield and the front doors.
2 Attachment(s)
My 2003 X5 3.0, has leather interior but it appears cloth on the A-pilars on the inside of the car. I have seen the posts about water leaking thru the drain tubes but don't think that this is related. See attached picutres. The cloth appears to have bubbled in a zig zag pattern, on both A pilars, only 1 pictured.
Has anyone experienced this, or know what is from? Any way known DIY fixes? |
My apologies, just saw zerochiefs post. http://www.xoutpost.com/bmw-sav-foru...ighlight=pilar
Has anyone tried a DIY fix for this? |
I've seen people try to re-glue the material with results that look worse than before. The material is too thin to try gluing normally. Likely the best self done job I've seen the guy removed them and all the material, then used spray on headliner adheasive to put on some felt bought from wallmarts fabrics department. It looked decent because it was black and blended decent, but you could tell it wasn't OEM.

the heat from the sun has released the adhesive from the a-pillar covers. replace them. they are $38 each.
|
You're not the only one. I have the same problem.
|
killcrap, when say they are $38 a piece, is that from Dealer or can you get them from online parts store?
|
from the dealer, prices may vary, but i know this is what it cost me.
