Does install an X-pipe affect California Emmissions? Say I'll need a smog check in a year...
|
Resonators play no role with emissions. Cats do.

Anyone done this mod and hated it?
I'm seriously considering this now. thanks franklin |
Anyone know if the same X pile quoted on page one also fits the 4.6 exhaust?

i think the X-pipe sound great with this header if you have the 3.0i ( found it on ebay)

so I went with this xpipe to a local shop, they wouldnt recomend using just welding, since this part(12" long) is much shorter than resonator and requires additional pieces of pipes to be welded as well. they advise to use bolt on hooks, which raices install price to like $200-300.
Also, once of the pipes thats coming out from the header before resonator is at 90degree angle which leaves almost no space to attach extension pipe before it would go to xpipe. anyone could recommend installer in Brooklyn NY or nearby? |
Why an "X" instead of just straight?
i've edited this question because i suspect it wasn't clear hence why nobody replied to it.
i completely understand that this mod changes (improves) the exhaust sound. what i'm wondering is why not just have two parallel pipes? what does the fact that the exhaust joins and then splits again do? i'm not referring to straight pipes that have no mufflers. i could just get an exhaust shop to put in two pipes whereas i'd have to get the X piece from the US. thanks in advance! |
