Please tell me you didn't pay $1,000 for just the powdercoated wheels? I hope I missed something else that's included in that price, because that is highway robbery.

Yeah, I paid that much for the wheels and spacers and new emblems. How much you pay for your powdercoated wheels?

Wow man...you should complain to the shop. That's just way too much. I have 3 sets of powdercoated wheels. I also have many other items on my cars that are PC'ed. Been doing it for years. You could say I'm a PC whore. :D

For my 20's, I paid $400. For my 18's for winter, I paid $350. For my stock 19's on my M (which I use as my winter wheels), I had a 3 step custom, graphite color done with those and special ordered the powder for that. That ran me $425 and again, this was a custom powder that had to be ordered a week in advance and was much more labor intensive than a standard black. I chose this color from a brochure they had of many various colors.

Wheel Spacers from Allsprings.com (Front and Rear) should run you around $200. Emblems are around $50, if that...

Take a look for yourself. I would print this and bring this to your shop and ask why they charged you so much.

Yeah it was my first time getting powdercoating done and the shop was the closest and most convenient. I had H&R spacers put on that cost me a little over $200 and the shop charged me $200 to dismount, mount, and balance. They stripped the stock wheels and powdercoated them which made it all together around $1,000. I knew it was expensive and I could find something cheaper but I saw their other work and figured why not. Seeing your numbers make me a little sick but I guess they got me :(. I originally asked the shop what went into the price and they said a large chunk of it is the stripping and sandblasting that they do. I had around 55,000 miles on my stock wheels so there was some dings and scratches that are now gone. Also, when the shop balanced them they found my two front rims were bent but thats another headache and another price. I'm not an expert on all this but is the stripping and sandblasting done with all powdercoating jobs? I live and I learn, and i guess too they see me as a young kid, since I'm 19 and either don't take me seriously or I get screwed b/c I don't know as much info from experience. Dang, I might just go back and show them some of your numbers.

thats wrong for someone to charge that. my wheels were powdercoated, tires mounted and balanced all for 500. you should have a talk with that asshole

I guess I'm not part of the "Black" club but these are Powder Coated. Here are mine in grey. These were originally matte, but after damaging one rim on a ferry and always hating how quickly they looked dirty, I chose to go with a clear coat.
